It would take an Oregon collapse for USC to be the king of the PAC-10 this season. And if it does happen, it will just further prove how weak the PAC-10 actually is.
You may be right TrojanAlum78 but I think if we win out we might have a chance of making it to Glendale AZ for the Fiesta Bowl - at least that would be a BCS bowl.
USC should be grateful for San Diego, or ANY Bowl appearance this year, in my opinion. They continue to be overrated, despite last Saturday’s huge loss.
TrojanAlum78; FYI It’s best not to get into any kind of discourse with marie, the OCR is right now considering banning her due to the constant and redundant insults and taunts. By mentioning her name she will feel it’s her right to reply with whatever nastiness she can come up with. Just so you know.
No TrojanAlum, my comment was based purely on USC’s performance on the field this season. Any team that loses to unranked Washington and gets dismantled 43-20 by the Ducks should not be #12 in the country or be in a BCS Bowl game.
Marie, its true that USC was badly beaten by a VERY good Oregon team, they’ve also beaten three ranked 6-win teams on the road. They are the only team in the nation to do this and it more than qualifies them to be ranked #12. I want to know, who would you rank above them?
USC will win out, a few teams ahead of them will flounder, and the Trojans will be back in a BCS game for the 8th consecutive year. Hopefully they’ll be matched against an overrated SEC team, so they can prove themselves against “the premier conference in college football.” That should set them up nicely for a run at the title next season.
While all of those teams have one less loss than USC, Pitt, Utah, and UH all suffer from extremely weak schedules.
Of those teams, I think Utah would have the best shot against the Trojans. They have a loss to Oregon in common, and will have a chance to prove themselves against a top ten ranked TCU in the coming weeks. I would never underestimate a well-coached team, and Kyle Wittingham is a great coach.
Pitt and UH would have no shot against the Trojans. The Panthers have played only one ranked team, and benefit from playing in the weak Big East.
The Trojans pass rush would eat Houston’s Case Keenum alive. The guy drops back to pass an average of 50 times a game. In other words, multiple sacks for Everson Griffen, Jurrell Casey, and Nick Perry. Plus, a defense that gave up 50-plus points to UTEP would have no shot against the Trojans balanced attack.
USC has a weak schedule too. Oh sure, they a had a few tough games this season, but the vast majority are against teams they should easily beat. And they have, although not so easily in some cases. And we can’t forget those two losses against unranked Washington and Oregon. 43-20. Ouch.
I disagree. I think SC has had one of if not THE hardest schedule in the nation thus far.
Think about it, traveling to play four ranked teams when you’re the biggest game on their schedule. Going up north to play a team in Washington that knows EVERYTHING (scheme, personnel, tendencies) about your program (Florida had similar trouble at Miss. State and if not for some major blown calls, could’ve lost that game).
Then playing a physical (if not dirty) Oregon State team that had a linebacker trying to take your QB outta the game with late hits, and succeded in sidelining your star TE with a horse collar tackle.
AND the Trojans still have a matchup with a physical and improving Stanford team coming up, and they end the season with a ranked Arizona team.
Arizona most likely won’t be ranked by the time we face them. They have upcoming games at Cal and against Oregon which they will most likely lose. If Arizona were to beat Cal, Cal would drop out of the rankings and nullify our “4 currently ranked teams on the road” argument. While Arizona is currently ranked, the toughest part of their schedule has yet to come.
1. Wished death upon all Trojan players and alumni
2. Made jokes about injured Trojan players (twice)
3. Made jokes about special education children
4. Made jokes about “forced prison romances”
5. Made jokes about bestiality
The Mods and other maggots may tolerate your disgusting humor here but I will not.
Barring a miracle USC won’t be the king of the PAC-10 this season, but I fully believe they will be back next year.

Marie must be from the SEC, not from ucla.
franklymydearl: San Diego, here come the Trojans …. yuck, but the truth.

Another SEC comment, right Marie? :)))

For starters: Pittsburgh, Utah and Houston.
Pittsburgh, Utah and Houston couldn’t beat usc home or away.

It’s NOVEMBER Trojan Fans …….. you know what that means for a PC coached team …… UNDEFEATED (last 7 yrs)
FIGHT ON!

Those are some great excuses there, Josh. You should apply for a job in USC’s PR department.
Marie, er Mario:
In the last 3 months, you have:
1. Wished death upon all Trojan players and alumni
2. Made jokes about injured Trojan players (twice)
3. Made jokes about special education children
4. Made jokes about “forced prison romances”
5. Made jokes about bestiality

Please take your childish banality elsewhere.
