USC football: McCoy unlikely to play at ASU

November 4th, 2009, 7:21 pm · 11 Comments · posted by Michael Lev, staff writer

Quick hitters from USC’s Wednesday practice:

** Tight end Anthony McCoy (ankle) still can’t run, decreasing the chances he’ll be available for the Arizona State game. He hasn’t practiced since getting hurt against Oregon State on Oct. 24.

** Defensive end Everson Griffen (toe) did work on the side, including running and side-to-side movements. He said the toe felt good, but it remains to be seen if he’ll be able to play because his position requires pushing off on every snap.

** Receiver Damian Williams (glute) and fullback Stanley Havili (shoulder) participated in the game-plan portion of practice and should be good to go.

** Tailbacks Allen Bradford (knee) and Joe McKnight (knee) returned to full duty after being limited Tuesday.

** Linebacker Malcolm Smith (shoulder) did some limited work. He is still a long shot to play but is no longer definitively out.

** Reserve linebacker Jarvis Jones (neck) is out.

  • Brian from B'ham says:

What’s the deal with so many injuries thie season?

  • quintiam says:

Brian, it just seems like it’s our turn for the injury curse this year. In my opinion, we had been fairly lucky with the injury bug the last few seasons, especially in light of what happened across town.

This year has been utterly bizarre: motorcycle accident, weightlifting accident, etc. What’s next?

  • Marie says:

Ummmm a lower rung who-cares-Bowl appearance?

  • quintiam says:

Hey Mario, when your hero Tim Tebow got hurt did you make jokes about him too? He really got hurt bad, so I’m sure you laughed a lot about that one, right?

  • Marie says:

No, but I did laugh outloud when the Trojans got CRUSHED by Oregon last Saturday. How about you?

  • quintiam says:

Really? I thought you would of laughed because you enjoy it so much when players get hurt.

  • Marie says:

I was too busy laughing at the Trojans season-ending collapse to notice any injuries.

  • quintiam says:

I see Mario, so it’s not ok to laugh when your great hero Tim Tebow gets hurt, but it is ok to laugh when Trojans get hurt?

Hey Mario, told any more funny jokes about the special education kids?

  • Marie says:

Give it up quintiam, you’re not fooling anyone. Even Trojans fans are embarrassed by your lame attempt to divert attention away from USC’s humiliating loss to Oregon. I think the final score was 168-20, yes?

Aww poor little Mario can’t defend his tasteless jokes about injured Trojan players and special education kids.

Come on Mario, give us one your jokes about kids in wheelchairs. I’m sure that will cheer you up.
