Tight end Anthony McCoy, a key part of USC’s offense in recent weeks, will miss Saturday’s showdown between the No. 4 Trojans and No. 10 Oregon at Autzen Stadium
McCoy is out with a sprained right ankle suffered in the fourth quarter of USC’s 42-36 victory against Oregon State last Saturday.
Sophomore Rhett Ellison will start in place of McCoy. Ellison has three receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown this season.
Fullback Stanley Havili, who missed the Oregon State game with a dislocated shoulder, will play in Eugene, Trojan coach Pete Carroll said, although D.J. Shoemate will start.
Wide receiver/punt returner Damian Williams will also play. Williams returned to practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday’s session with a sore glute.
