Quick hitters from USC’s very soggy Wednesday practice:
** Defensive tackle Averell Spicer (ankle) took about half the usual reps and said he was unsure whether he’d be able to play at Notre Dame on Saturday.
** Nose tackle Christian Tupou (knee) also remains limited, making his availability uncertain as well. Armond Armstead again took most of the first-team reps inside alongside Jurrell Casey.
** Coach Pete Carroll said tailback Marc Tyler’s injured big toe will be re-evaluated next Tuesday. Tyler is considering season-ending surgery.
** Defensive end Nick Perry (knee) practiced and should be good to go for Notre Dame.
** Former USC cornerback Jason Sehorn, who’s working for the CBS College Sports Network, attended practice.
More from the USC blog:
I believe Nick Perry is going to have a stellar game with at least 2.5 sacks and 6 tackles.. It’s going to be a great game with SC winning by at least two touchdowns.. Go Trojans!! Fight On!!
ND has flown in every top recruit they could to this game. They are approaching this as a program changing game. Some of the recruits are guys we are after too… And we need to show those kids what it’s like to go into a hostile environment and shut the crowd up.
The real over/under of this game is how long it will take for McLOVIN to get trashed on Ms. McLOVIN’s Famous Bloody Mary’s. It is said to be the start of the 2nd quarter and I am going with “under”.
