As you probably noticed if you attended USC’s scrimmage Saturday, the Coliseum has received a makeover.
The new lease agreement with the school has led to numerous upgrades, including new lights, improved concession stands and new carpeting in the locker rooms.
But the most noticeable change — by far — is the cardinal and gold striping around the outer rim of the stadium.
The bigger, bolder and (in my opinion) better color scheme replaces the aqua that had characterized the Coliseum since the 1984 Olympics.
You can see both looks in these photos. Now tell us what you think:
More from the USC blog:
It’s a little McDonaldsy…but I have yet to see it in person. Red’s not cardinal enough, but I always did dislike that fading turquoise color anyway. Wasn’t hard to improve that look!
Great start, now they have to get rid of the sundeck, which cheapens the look of the place.
What I really want to see is the removal of the tacky jerseys covering empty bleachers at the paristyle end of the stadium, fill them up with fans.
Class of 94. Personally its nothing more than lipstick on a pig….I would think USC can do more than that!
