Steve Sarkisian isn’t the only former Pete Carroll lieutenant competing with his former boss for top-tier talent.
Tennessee, coached by Lane Kiffin, is one of four finalists for Tampa, Fla., tight end Orson Charles, according to Scout.com.
The others are USC, Florida and Georgia.
Charles, one of the top unsigned 2009 prospects, is expected to visit USC in the coming weeks.
USC has no tight ends and only one wide receiver in its ‘09 class.
More from the USC blog:
I think Pete Carroll by far is the best coach in the country. Better than Saban. I also think Mac Brown is avery good coach. When it comes to recruiting the polls they favor Saban. Keffin recruited Jarzen Jackson from Barbe High in Lake Charles. As long as LSU recruited him he was a 4-Star when Keffin got him he gained a Star which he is now a 5-Star. So athletes are the same It just depends who’s writing the article. It showed in the Utah game. You will see Pete keep on being Sucessful, while other coaches hit a low. Don’t get me wrong I am an Avid LSU fan. But Pete is still the best, Brown 2nd and Meyer 3rd
