USC football: Injury updates from Wednesday’s practice

December 3rd, 2008, 7:31 pm · Post a Comment · posted by Michael Lev, staff writer

** Safety Kevin Ellison (knee) participated in service-team and pass-defense drills, doing work similar to last Tuesday. His knee didn’t feel right the next day, so the key day for him this week is Thursday to see how his surgically repaired knee responds.

** Tailback Stafon Johnson returned to practice after missing the past two days because of a bruised thigh. Johnson appeared to have a slight limp but said he should be able to play Saturday.

** Fullback Stanley Havili did limited work but said afterward that his sprained right ankle still hurts. USC coach Pete Carroll said Havili could play Saturday even if he can’t practice full speed.
