USC-Notre Dame edge: Special teams

USCThe Trojans’ kickoff-return unit played a pivotal role in the victory at Stanford. Ronald Johnson had returns of 50 and 75 yards, and C.J. Gable’s 93-yard touchdown tied the score at 17 in the second quarter. David Buehler has made 7 of 8 FG attempts and has 39 touchbacks in 69 kickoffs. Brandon Walker accounted for 11 of Notre Dame’s points last week vs. Syracuse but missed half of his six FG attempts, including a 26-yarder and a 53-yarder that would have won the game.
