USC says size doesn’t matter, but the fact remains that the Trojans had difficulty locating and corralling Jacquizz Rodgers, Oregon State’s subcompact tailback. Enter Arizona’s Keola Antolin, a fellow freshman of similarly diminutive stature (5-8, 180) who rushed for 149 yards and three TDs last week in place of fumble-prone Nic Grigsby. USC’s defenders must avoid surrendering their leverage to try to find Antolin. Holding their ground against Arizona’s offensive line wouldn’t hurt, either.

When Keola runs, if the SC defenders will slow down a little and squat down a little, they won’t make the same mistake they made with Jacquizz and OSU, which was overpursuing and tackling high. It’s hard to make that adjustment when you’re normal tendencies are different. Nonetheless, given that Jacquizz and OSU happened, USC probably won’t let it happen again.
