USC football: More on McKnight’s toe

October 13th, 2008, 8:05 pm · 1 Comment · posted by Michael Lev, staff writer

Guard Zack Heberer missed USC’s past two games after suffering turf toe at Oregon State on Sept. 25.

Regarding Joe McKnight’s case, which had him in a boot Monday, USC coach Pete Carroll said: “This is a hard one to tell. Obviously this is a real critical and painful injury for a running back particularly, but it’s hard on everybody.”

With Stafon Johnson (illness) and Allen Bradford (hip) also missing practice, redshirt freshman Broderick Green moved up to the No. 2 tailback spot behind C.J. Gable.

These absences aren’t as bad as they seem. Green and Gable will be the next “Thunder and lightening”.

    Fight on!!
