USC postgame: Q + A with Rey Maualuga

October 11th, 2008, 6:01 pm · Post a Comment · posted by ARTIE CASAS, OCREGISTER.COM

USC’s hard hitting middle linebacker, Rey Maualuga, led his team to their first shutout victory of the season.

What was the atmosphere out there like?

RM: Everybody was fired up and hungry today.
How big was it to get those two blocked field goals?

RM: All that happens because Clay Matthews and Fili Moala worked hard during practice, they came out today and did their job. We shut them out today and that’s a great feeling - especially because it was home.

Where does your team go from here?

RM: It’s still a long season ahead off us and we can’t make predictions due to a shutout against Arizona State. We are just going to soak in this win, enjoy it and comeback on Monday to get ready for Washington State.
