Carroll: Beanie Wells’ situation ‘not a big deal’

September 5th, 2008, 10:50 am · Post a Comment · posted by Adam Maya, staff writer since 2006

USC coach Pete Carroll said Friday that he expects Ohio State running back Chris “Beanie” Wells, who is not playing against Ohio on Saturday, to return for next week’s game against the Trojans on Sept. 13.

“We just figure that he is playing,” he said. “It looked like he hurt his right toe when he pushed off. It’s not a big deal. We’re not worrying over it.”

Meanwhile, the Trojans had an early session Friday to allow coaches to make recruiting trips this weekend. They have Saturday and Sunday off.

“I’m trying to get to three (games) today,” Carroll said. “This is all you can do with a bye.”

Wells to sit out Saturday
