USC quarterback Mark Sanchez threw passes in 7-on-7 drills this morning for the first time since injuring his knee Aug. 8.
Sanchez said he didn’t even think about his knee during the drills.
He also reported no swelling, one day after working with receivers for the first time on Tuesday.
Sanchez remains hopeful that he can return to contact work by next week and start in the season opener a week from Saturday at Virginia.
Aaron Corp and Mitch Mustain will split the reps in Thursday’s mock-game scrimmage at the Coliseum. Corp will start after Mustain started the previous scrimmage.
Should USC start Sanchez in the opener if he’s less than 100 percent, or save him for Ohio State?

USC is not about “saving” someone for later. It’s lights out every game. That is why we recruit to such depth. Put out or get out at SC.
