USC coach Pete Carroll will be a featured speaker at LA Live Peace 08’s “March for Kids” at the Coliseum on Saturday, Aug. 2. And if Carroll gets his way, a couple of other prominent figures will appear at the rally, too.
At Thursday’s Pac-10 Media Day, Carroll extended an invitation to the men who would be President — Barack Obama and John McCain.
Carroll called it “an extraordinary opportunity for our presidential candidates to join hands with the kids who are our future. … We need all the help we can get. We ain’t got much time.”
No word yet on whether Obama and McCain have RSVP’d.
A Better LA and Unity One are staging the march, which begins at 10 a.m. Its purpose is to rally support for saving lives in the streets of Los Angeles.
